DDJ-SX2 microphone not working with Audacity

I am trying to use my DDJ-SX2 as a sound card to record into Audacity. Specifically, I want to use the microphone input from the controller to record to Audacity through USB. The Audacity software recognizes a "Microphone (Pioneer DDJ-SX2)" input is available, but there is no sound being recognized or recorded. I also get an error message saying "Error while opening sound device when recording".

Is there a problem with the controller here? Any help would be appreciated.
