DDJ 1000 - no laptop but desktop PC?

I'm thinking of a buying a DDJ 1000 so need a computer running Rekordbox DJ - which would usually be a laptop.

I don't have a laptop but have 2 high spec PCs (hence me not wanting to buy a laptop) so I can use one of these to run Rekordbox DJ with the DDJ 1000?

I assume yes but there a coupe of issues which I'm not sure about though?

1. Where the DDJ1000 will be, I won't be able to see the PC screen or use the keyboard/mouse.
So, If i plug an external small monitor and sit it by the DDJ 1000, will this work ok or do i need to use the keyboard and mouse with Rekordbox DJ?
Ideally If i can select/load the tracks from the DDJ 1000, just having the external monitor would be all I need right?

You can do a lot with just the controller, but I admit I use the keyboard for searching and the mouse to toggle so for me I would need both.  could you get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse set up?

Matt

Thanks and did think about additional mouse/keyboard but don't want the extra clutter.
I can live without searching but what do you mean by toggle?

Jay

I'll move the mouse to search because of my years with Serato and having to involve a lot of commands with either key stroke or mouse, but you can live without both.

I use a desktop in my setup. I also have a 27inch touch screen and it works like a charm. no mouse or keyboard needed. you can control a lot from the ddj1000 in rekordbox natively.

simply get a touchscreen as your second monitor near your ddj1000 my friend and if you need to type for searching use the "onscreen windows keyboard"

plus using the preview field is super quick in deciding what to play next :)

I'm suprised it's not recommended more to use a touch screen.
