DDJ-RR question

So I’m using the ddj-rr with rekordbox and have a question about cue with my headphones. So I have the headphone mix knob turned all the way to cue and all 3 cue buttons off (unlit) and still seem to get a trace of audio from the channels coming through my headphones.. and then when cue is enabled that track just comes through but louder than the background track. Is there a way to disable so that I get nothing but audio from the cued channels?
