Stuck in Sync Master Mode

How Do I get out of Sync & Master mode, I get stuck and can't get out of it, even if I turn off the CDJ, when I turn it back on, I'm still in Sync Master Mode?

The feature is fun to play with when it works matching the BPM beats

but, it isn't always practical when you are using different BPM's

for example, one CDJ is in Sync mode and the other one is in master

mode, you can't change the sync'ed CDJ or the master CDJ, to get out of the mode, what I'm I doing wrong here?

I'm using a pair of Pioneer CDJ2000NXS2's with the current firmware update 1.72
