DDJ-RX Track Management & iTunes on Network

Just got an RX, all music is on home network in iTunes (best place for it for backups, Sonos etc) and initially had though if I take the RX elsewhere to play I could export a playlist onto a flash drive. However, my understanding now is that flash drives are only for CDJs etc and cannot be used through my laptop with the RX.

Is this correct, any ideas on the best way to manage music to use the RX outside of home would be much appreciated as I'm completely new to Rekordbox having previously used very old CDJs. I really want to avoid having to keep two copies of my entire library and want to keep it on the network.
