ALAC and FLAC

Now that Rekordbox supports ALAC and FLAC, will support for these formats be coming to the XDJ-RX?

The hardware itself is incapable of playing back those formats, hence no support; no firmware update can add support for it, sorry.

BriChi

If the RX is controlling 4.0 then yes, I doubt the RX will play ALAC or FLAC off USB. the only reason it is no supported is 4.0 and your laptop doing all the work to play it

Surely it would just be a firmware update?

BriChi

no, i think its more of a hardware decoding memory issue

BriChi

but i could be completely wrong of course

I second this need. Massive showstopper for me and the main reason I have not bought one yet. Ive been using ALAC and iTunes for years. I really do not want to convert all my stuff to AIFF as it is incompatible with various other things I use.

Please take the handcuffs off this on the XDJ-RX, Pioneer!!

For sure we needed to have ALAC format supported to be used on the XDJ-RX. Is it a matter of a firmware  upgrade?

It is nowadays s default and recognized high-res audio format. Why those legacy & less quality file formats on this XDJ-RX and also other Pioneer DJ equipment? For Pro DJ's a high quality format is requirements nr 1.

And why is ALAC still not supported in RekordBox for iOS. The RekordBox iOS version  isn't updated for a  very very long time. Please also make ALAC available  in there, because I can get rid of annoying laptops.

is there any upcoming news regarding this, Pioneer software team?
