DDJ SX Grounding issue?

 I recently purchased a DDJSX and I love it... I just cant get  the vinyl mode to work properly. Ive been to the end of the internet looking for suggestions for fix this issue. I live in a fairly older apt and plan to have them install a fresh grounded outlet for me but if the circuits are connected in the apt that may not work either.  What has worked for others? Has anyone attempted to ground the controller manually? can that even be done? I love this device. I just want to be able use all the features of it.   I know its not a firmware or computer issue, as everything is up to date. Thanks!!
