If I purchased a djm-900 in mid september, would the firmware updates prior to this point be shipped on the unit?

I prefer cds so I havent hook it up to my laptop yet.

Given that 1.2.1 was released 6 days ago, I'd say you're out of date.  ;)  The easiest way to find out which version you have ... press and hold the effect CUE and ON/OFF button while powering up the unit.  If you need an update, you can get it here.
