Not updating the firmware can be a problem?
Do I need to update the firmware?

@Pal > Sorry to hear that, let's try some basic troubleshooting steps first...
Assuming everything is set up correctly in rekordbox with a song playing on channel 1...
1) adjust the TRIM knob so levels show in the CH1 meter
2) press the CUE button for channel 1
3) turn the HEADPHONE MIX knob to be at 12 o'clock
4) on the front of the unit, adjust the HEADPHONE VOLUME; sound should now be heard in the headphones
If this doesn't resolve the issue, we'll investigate the configuration within rekordbox - and I'll need to know which operating system you're using.
