I've noticed an recent update on firmware for the CDJ-850 but there's no link.  Also, there's nothing on the pioneer dj website about CDJ-850s as for as discontinued products etc.

Dear Support,
 
I am trying to do a firmware update to the above device and turning it on while pressing the USB and the RELOOP/EXIT buttons at the same time is not possible.
 
The device starts up to a default state.
I have another one of the same device and it works without any issue,
 
Please advise.

Could be a fault with one of the buttons - please contact a Pioneer DJ authorized service centre in your region to have your hardware inspected and/or repaired, they could also update the firmware for you if you really need it.
