Running 2 CDJ 2000nxs Decks, 1 or 2 usb sticks required?

I own a XDJ-RX which I bought so I can prepare for a gig this month, using the CDJ 2000 NXS for the first time. My question is this, when I use the XDJ-RX I have a USB slot on each deck but only 1 is truly required, as I can pull songs from lets say Deck 1's usb drive and load them on Deck 2. Is this functionality the same with the CDJ 2000 NXS or will I need a USB stick for each deck?

Hi!

You only need one USB pen. Plug it in to one of the decks, and choose "USB" as source. On the other player, choose "LINK" as source. The other player will pull the songs from the other one.

The CDJs will be linked up with an Ethernet switch, and share state information between themselves (and hopefully the mixer too).

Cheers,

Tord

Just make sure that the venue has linked the decks. I always carry a network cable just to be on the safe side...
