File Open Rekordbox Db
What is the reason why File => Open database is not permitted like every other modern application.

Because it's not intended that you would be using multiple databases. There is a method to do it, however - move one database to an external drive, then quit rekordbox, disconnect the drive and start rekordbox again, it will start with a blank drive.
To then load the external drive database again, connect the drive and select it from within the preferences.
Only one database can be opened at a time.
