CDJ 2000 with ipod touch?

I think it would be great to able to hook up an ipod touch to the cdj 2000.

Richard Flowers

due to the fact the ipod touch runs off the iphone os, it is not compatible, however if you have an ipod classic it will work with the CDJ or at least it does with the 350's so i would have to imagine does with the 2000 seeing as they are 3 times the price, and the ipod classic comes in a much better range of harddrive sizes

@MrDjRoman > The iPod touch is only compatible if you jailbreak it and use a disk utility.  This is because devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and iPod Shuffle use image-class storage methods rather than disk-class storage.

Mr Dj Roman

i know what you mean. But Pioneer DEH-7300BT cd receiver can be used USB Port for Direct Control of iPod®/iPhone® or Access to USB Device. what do you think?

Pulse

That's not a DJ device; it uses a different interfacing for the iPod which is not suitable for DJ use.

I am not sure about the iPod touch but my older version iPod works fine with my CDJ 2000's.  See my post here:  http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/21601606-pioneer-cdj-2000-using-ipod-as-usb

The downside is that Rekordbox is a great tool for your music files with its tons of features.

Correct - as pointed out in that thread, iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad cannot be used without certain configuration changes that Apple don't exactly approve.

This is what ruined the "I don't have that track with me" response to someone requesting some horrible track you would never own.

Because all they will say to that is " well can my friend hook up his iPod"?

Pulse

"Sorry, I don't have the ability to do that."
