Different controllers same software.
I have had a DDJRZ for some time, decided to buy an SB3 for smaller simple gigs. I hate Serato so when the DDJ 400 came out I did some research and it was said I can use the same software for both controllers depending on the gig. Simple plug and play but I can't figure it out. What's the secret?

Well...
The DDJ-400 is a rekordbox controller, and can't be used with Serato DJ.
The DDJ-SB3 is a Serato DJ controller, and can't be used with rekordbox. I don't know if that will change in future (as it has with other S-series controllers), but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.
So short answer, none of those controllers are compatible with both rekordbox and Serato DJ.
Right I hate serato so i bought the DDJ 400 thinking I could plug in and use my rekordbox software and crates that I use with my DDJRZ. I dont want to use serato ever. So my question is how do I use my DDJ 400 and my DDJRZ with the same rekordbox software and preloaded music and crates? I'm trying to save myself the hassle of lugging the DDJRZ around all the time by being able to just bring the little DDJ 400....
Ahhh... yes, you could certainly use either controller! In fact, I'm constantly switching hardware here as I'm testing and supporting the whole line of PDJ hardware.
How do you use it? Same way you always do. rekordbox, unlike Serato DJ, operates on a license-unlock rather than a hardware-unlock. Once you have the software activated, you can use any hardware you want. Launch the software, connect your hardware, play.
its already activated with my DDJRZ license key. Do i replace it? I'm not really get a solid answer here. Can anyone actually answer the question and how to step by step please?
The license key is not tied to the hardware, so there is no need to replace it. As Pulse said:
If it's not working, you'll need to describe your setup and explain what's going wrong.
You can use any hardware you want once the license is activated.
