Thinking of getting a DJM900 nexus what to expect

Thinking of purchasing a DJM900 nexus to along with my 2000's,  I'll be running the whole setup with Serato DJ.  Here are some of questions I have regarding operation and connection.

Do all 3 units connect to my laptop via USB or are there other cables I need for this to all work with Serato DJ?

I have a Macbook Pro but haven't updated the OS yet is there any drivers I need to install or is it just plug and play like my CDJ2000S via HID mode?

Finally can I MIDI MAP Serato DJ functions to the DJM900 so I can take more advantage of the features from Serato DJ?

Yes, Serato DJ offers MIDI learn functions for adding control from the mixer ... but there's not a lot of controls available on the mixer as the unit operates "audio first" meaning if you map a function to one of the EQ knobs, that EQ knob still affects the audio even though it is sending MIDI signal. If you only ever use 2 channels, you certainly could use the other 2 for MIDI, but you may be better off with another controller dedicated to that kind of control, such as a DDJ-SP1.

yes, all USB and I believe Serato DJ (Like scratch live) has a midi learn process where you can map parts of the mixer to control serato, Again, I know in scratch live you can but I never used serato DJ so i could be wrong

Quite a few people are telling me to sell the CDJ2000s and move on to an SZ if I want the best of both worlds,  it concerns me that the SZ doesn't have the same quality as the CDJ2000 but it does make sense since I'm a Serato user.
