DJM-800 Master Output 1(XLR) Screaming LOUD

Hi,

I have my DJM-800 connected directly to a QSC RMX 2450 Amplifier via Master Output 1 (XLR) and the level coming from the DJM-800 is so incredibly hot  i can  only turn up the QSC amp 10 percent before it's louder than i would ever need it to be (this is with the DJM-800 Master ATT pot set to -12db).  Why is the Master Output 1 on the DJM-800 so incredibly hot?  How can i better gain stage this setup?
