Laptop recommendations for rekord box dj
Hello,
Can you please let me know an intel i3 is sufficient enough to run rekord box dj properly?. I m asking as i was using rekord box on a core 2 duo machine with 8gb of ram, it worked fine for most of time but still there was a lot of popping sounds and sometimes the sound was distorted continously for some seconds until it got back to normal again. I know core 2 duo is not recommended, but since i3 is the next processor in line to it. I want to know if i have to go for i5 or an i3 6th or 7th gen is enough.

Not all computers are equal -- you could find that a 5 year old computer running an i3 processor that performs better than a 2 year old computer with an i5. Sometimes it's the hardware itself (like the USB bridge, memory bus, etc), other times it's the fact there's software or system processes running in the background that hamper software performance.
What you will typically find is the higher performance processors will give you a longer life; my 2012 MacBook Pro with an i7 processor is still capable of running new OS's and software with decent speed, but if it were an i5, it might not have the same abilities at the same age.
While the minimum requirements are a Core2Duo / i3, that's the minimum. Using anything above that is recommended.
I'm using a 200€ thinkpad x220 with no problem
Had a party at my house yesterday and a friend was using an i3 with Rekordbox 5.3.0. Had no issues.
