Newly imported track not showing in rekordbox

So, I have my iTunes and rekordbox settings on an external hdd. I have imported some new tracks into iTunes (vinyl rips). These have been added to my iTunes library, but when I select iTunes in rekordbox these do not show. I have refreshed the library. Any idea why these new tracks are not appearing? is rekordbox pointing at the wrong library file? How can I find out how to get rekordbox to find these tracks without selecting them via the file path? I use smart iTunes playlists, so keen to get these direct from iTunes. Thanks
