it is possible to widen the slider and possibly make it brighter?
I then need my reading glasses and have to adjust the light output of my notebook to the highest setting. And that is not sexy :)

Manually no, but you could file an inquiry ticket and ask the rekordbox team to look into it, or as I do when the lights go down- the glasses go on! please file an inquiry ticket here
