Audio stoping

Hi
I've just got rekordbox DJ software plus the dvd plugin and noticed that the audio stops randomly then goes all distorted like a bit crusher effect.All pc programs are Upto date and rekordbox itself.Can anyone else throw any light on why this is happening?
Sony Vaio laptop
Intel core i5
4 gb ran
2.3 gz
P.s I've played with the latency buffer on different settings and nothing seems to work
