Help Please?
HI there,
I'm considering a Toraiz SP-16 to mess about trying to produce tracks. I've DJ'd for over 20 years but never created any music. I recently bought Maschine Studio & Jam to start making music but the learning curve is considerable and I don't have the time or patience to get good with it.
Would the Toraiz provide me with an easier way to get creative using all the loops etc
I'm not looking for a hit record or anything but just want to get creative without the hassles of software and music theory learning.
appreciate any thoughts
Cheers
Paul

The advantage of Toraiz over maschine would be that you could load samples/loops and start messing around, but having said that some basic music knowledge is required or would be helpful since if you don't know what you are doing it will be a mess. I would suggest since you have maschine and jam spend some time learning and once you get comfortable then go for the toraiz. nothing stops you if you have the $$ to spend, but based on what you say i feel 2 months after the toraiz you will be looking for something else.
Advantages of Toraiz;
1. Learning curve is low
2. You could buy commercial samples and start jamming away- use the construction kits all within th key
Thanks for the response i'm maybe underselling my knowledge a little i have both logic for recording and editing my mixes and ableton as I used to dj with it 10 years ago so i'm not totally ignorant. I just feel that this unit may be easier to play around and seeing as I've just bought the maschine set up i can exchange. I understand harmonies as i've dj'd for so many years. I know about phrases and house music composition.
On the growing out of the toraiz perhaps i can then buy a midi keyboard if i want to properly create my own stuff but like the idea of making my own samples using my CDJ's to record and mess around. My challenge is time and realistically i'm never going to become a master producer.
If i'm wrong in my thuinking please tell me
BR
Paul
Hi Paul then yes Toraiz has one of the best workflows and ease of learning. For now it won't give you as much as maschine but you can cook something very quick.
