[TICKETED] Audio crackling while using DJM-T1 as iMac audio card

Hi guys, i am experiencing audio crackling while listening to Youtube videos (for example) and since my DJM-T1 is my main audio card/output I don't find any way to adjust buffer size in the Apple preferences. I know I can adjust it in Traktor but i need this adjustment for the whole system, not only Traktor.

mlektra

This is somewhat weird because I have 20GB of RAM! And now, the problem is still there PLUS I lose the sound completely after 2 min and need to restart the DJM-T1. I have this last problem since I updated to OSX 10.9.

Hi Martin,

Sorry I am a bit confused.  Can we focus on Traktor & your mixer or is YouTube and the iPad important too?

mlektra

I am using the DJM-T1 as my main audio card AND the problem happen also in Traktor whatever what I do in the buffer section of Traktor.

Driver is : Ver.1.1.0

Firmware is : Ver 3.0

I just looked at my settings in Traktor and I have the default settings and don't have that issue. unfortunately I don't have a Mac so not to experienced to help out with the computer part.

Have you played with the settings in Traktor?

Have you tried using a different USB cable?

Have you tried using a different outlet (plug) in your home?

Also try unplugging everything from the mixer except for the laptop and use your headphones to see if the problem goes away, if it does, then start adding everything you had one by one to determine what is causing this.

Let me know how you make out, and good luck.

Doesn't sound like an issue with the buffer but rather an issue with the samplerate. Can you open the OS X audio preferences and see what the samplerate is for the T1?

mlektra

Hi Pulse, i dont see any info about sample rate in audio pref in OSX

Aaron Doublea Douglas

Hi there... I'm having a very similar problem... Ever since I updated to OSX Mavericks, there is a slight, but distinctive crackling in the background of my audio when my DJM-T1 is connected via USB... I'm using it with Traktor Scratch Pro and Technics 1200 MK2s... My Macbook Pro is late 2010, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB ram... OSX 10.9.1

You can set the sample rate and bit rate in the Audio-MIDI-Setup tool which is located in Applications -> Utilities

@Martin > Are you using a Retina MBP?

Federico Ava

i've the same problem with DJM900 nexus on iMac 27"...

Pulse

Audio problems seem to occur more frequently with retina units - let me pass this info along to the engineers and see if they have any suggestions.

Pulse

@Federico > Unfortunately I can't say it's the same problem if you've got different hardware. Please start a new topic in another thread (you can even link to this one) and we'll be happy to help you.

Pulse

Engineers have found the source of this issue and are in the testing phases for a new firmware and/or driver. We'll update this thread when we have more info or the files are released.

Hi Pulse, Pioneer support have sent me this link to a PDF :

http://pioneerdj.com/support/files/img/Mavericks_v10.9_En.pdf

It says that the drivers for Mavericks should be release soon.

My mac is under 10.9 and I clerly cant use the DJM-T1 as my main output for my Tracktor Pro or main Mac audio because sounds is dropping each 2 min. Have to reboot the device to listen to another 2 minutes of audio.

Hi Pulse,

Is there any new information on OSX 10.9 (Now 10.9.2) and the DJM T1?

Martin's Spreadsheet says Middle of March 2014
