XDJ-RX3 Setup

I've had the XDJ-RX3 controller for a while. I've used the Serato function with it, with no problems. I finally tried using the Rekordbox feature from my MAC laptop & have run into problems setting it up. I updated it to the 6.8.4 version. The Source screen shows my Macbook & Software Control options. When I select the Macbook option I can see the selected track at the bottom of the screen of my laptop& not where Deck 1 or 2 are near the top of my laptop screen. When I select Software Control it takes me to Browse. It shows the XDJ-RX3 console is connected in the top right corner But I can't load a track onto the decks. What am I missing? I'm using the free version for now. Not sure if I need nor want to upgrade at this point.
