Pioneer XDJ XZ Freezing with Serato (USB to Laptop)

I have had a number of issues with the XDJ XZ freezing up when plugged via USB into my Macbook Pro running Serato DJ Pro (V3.0.12). Laptop specs attached.

I had less issues running a 2010 Macbook Pro with the Pioneer SX2 for 7 years...I purchased the XZ to allow occasional standalone options and provide a solid performance spec but I have had nothing but issues.

Ordinarily, the mounted screen freezes and the controller runs very glitchy and not at all in time with my laptop. I check the CPU on the laptop to ensure that wasnt the issue, but it is running at around 37%. I have the latest firmware and Serato DJ Pro updates. Tonight was the first time that the controller reset itself mid-set! And left me without music for around 45 seconds with a full dancefloor...

I would therefore appreciate any assistance as I am not prepared to suffer another failure like I had this evening and will have no choice but to replace the 'Powerhouse' for something more reliable.
