Solution for beat grid time signature other than 4/4

There is a post about this already here:

https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360025613991-Change-Beat-Grid-Time-Signature

The responses from Rekordbox on this topic are disappointing, claiming "monumental engineering hours." I do not see any technical limitations to achieving alternate time signatures, especially since this functionality already exists in some extent by editing the rekordbox.xml (mentioned in link above.) A Minimum Viable Product (MVP) solution only requires the following:
1) Set flag during analysis to "analyze as _____ time". Similar to how dynamic analysis is done now.

2) Add software button to determine sync behavior below:

3) Sync Behavior 1 <default>: line up beats. Do not need to line up the down beats, just line up each beat and let the downbeats be positioned by the user.

4) Sync Behavior 2: line up downbeats only. (It is not possible to line up every beat of differing time signatures if the down beats are aligned.) Between downbeats, the other beats are not aligned.

Curious what the engineering team thinks of this suggestion... Thank you!
