DDJ REV5 Big Problem

Just got the DDJ Rev5 for my daughter and set it all up using Serato DJ Pro.  Downloaded all the latest drivers and firmware.  When I press the cue button 1 I cannot hear the loaded track in the headphones,  it instead plays a sample from the loaded samples.  I'm thinking the buttons got mapped incorrectly.  HELP!
