Rekordbox backup not working
My CDJs randomly stopped recognizing my USB so I used the backup function of Rekordbox to create a backup of all my music and my database, however the only thing that was backed up was the actual database on my computer, not the tracks on my USB.
My computer doesn't have most of my music on it, I keep everything on my USB and I occasionally backup my USB. The problem is now that none of my playlists are there and I suspect the backup actually backed up my collection and not my USB (My USB was what I was trying to backup). Now I have no playlists. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? The instructions online make it seem like if I select my USB and go click "Backup" that is what will be backed up. Is this not the case? Do we really ONLY have the option to backup the "Collection" which is stored on the computer (or wherever else it's stored). If so, that seems like a pretty bad design.

It is not possible to backup what is on your USB device. Only the Collection in rekordbox.
You could right click on the a playlist from the Device section and select to import the playlists that you want into rekordbox and then backup your rekordbox library.
Can you please build in the option to a future update? You should be able to backup the USB separately. I collect music from everywhere and load it on my USB so my USB Is the one place where everything lives and I know many others use it this same way.
