Pioneer S9 not connecting on some computers but works perfectly on others
As the title reads, I have an S9 that only connects on certain computers and refuses to connect to others. I have done tests the past few days trying to figure this out and narrowed it down to that particular S9.
Tests Below
I have had access to 6 laptops and 3 units of the S9. (ALL S9 have latest firmware v1.09), 3 different USB cables also.
2021 M1 Macbook pro (monterey)
2017 Macbook pro (High Sierra)
2013 Macbook pro (Catalina)
2013 Macbook Pro (Big Sur)
7th Gen i7 Dell Inspiron (windows 10)
3rd Gen i3 Hp laptop (windows 10)
The faulty S9 won't connect to 3 of computers, it only connects to the HP laptop and both 2013 macbook pros. it even works as a soundcard and i can even reflash the firmware using these "working computers", i have even tried to downgrade the firmware all the way to v1.04 to 1.09 using either of this working computers still doesnt work on the other 3.
It wont connect as a soundcard nor to serato (even the orange "DJM S9 is connecting it may take upto a minute" message does NOT appear on those 3 computers)
Now, just to clarify, the other 2 S9 connect and work perfectly on ALL the above laptops both in serato or for use as a soundcard. it's just that one faulty S9 that is "discriminating" computers to connect to & which ones not to.
My head scratching conclusings
1. The fact that the other 2 S9 work on all laptops shows its not a driver issue on any of the laptops nor usb port, nor OS issue on any of the laptops.
2. The fact that the faulty S9 connects (and WORKS PERFECTLY) on 3 laptops means the hardware on the S9 is good? i think if its hardware it wouldnt work atall??
Has anyone ever experienced this issue and there a HARD RESET option on the S9 that is greater than the normal factory reset?
