Rekordbox artist interpretation seperators

Hello,

Usually Rekordbox analysis my tracks and for the artist metadata only gives me 1 artist (the main artist often). Weirdly enough this is what I prefer cause it's the least clutter. However when i edit the metadata in MP3Tag and add the same "\\" separators in between the artists as the tracks that work the way i prefer. Somehow when I reload the tag's in Rekordbox, Rekordbox starts displaying all the artists separated by spaces. This also happens whit tracks that previously were working fine.

Is there a way to make Rekordbox only show the forst artist in the metadata?

Note: I'm still on Rekordbox 5 since my ancient controller doesn't support hardware activation for newer editions.
I have tried different ID3 tags versions via MP3 tag and tis seems to make no difference although it made a difference when using different separators.
It seems to work with WAV files no problem (only the order in MP3tag has to be reversed) However most of my tracks are in MP3 and i like having the cover art.

I really hope someone can help me with this cause it's destroying my brain.

Ves

No, Rekordbox doesn't look at the '\\'. It just adds all text.

What you can do is use an artist2 field and have people listed there.

Try not to force and use Rekordbox as you're used to in another program.
It takes a very big usergroup to make changes like that.

Hi Ves,

I believe Rekordbox DOES recognize the '\\' because te software does replace them with spaces. Also, in the cases where i don't edit the tags myself it often does show up as preffered so when i edit the tags in MP3Tag something changes and makes rekordbox interpret the artist field differently.

However the "Artist2" field seems like it could be a workaround, where can i find that field?
