Solution for : "Not enough Space on USB - but there is!"

Hi all,

Long time user here.

I was trying to make some space on my device (without necessarily formatting it (because that's not a freaking solution to this issue))

I plugged in my USB into my XDJ-RX2 and deleted the playlist directly from there. Then plugged it back into Rekordbox, saw the playlist still in my drive, deleted it from there. Went and manually (painfully) deleted each and every track from the "contents" folder, then emptied the bin. And yet, Rekordbox still told me I had "not enough space available on the device".

Went onto this very Pioneer DJ forum, witnessed zero help from any Pioneer customer service (as you do). This "industry standard" software has always been poorly optimized, famously unreliable according to every user I've met, and not a single person from the company has been able to provide a solution to this basic issue in years (no, formatting your drive still isn't a lasting solution).

Found a reddit thread (that I've lost - sorry, won't be able to credit the og post), with a simple solution :

Plug in your usb, open rekordbox. Within rekordbox, delete the playlist/files you want gone from your usb. Open the Sync Manager, *untick every playlist*, and then run it empty (with no playlist selected). It will delete your already deleted files for good, and you'll have actual space on your usb.

Just did it, and it worked for me, hope it works for other cause you never know with this heap of a software.

If you've read this rant all the way through, thanks :) love you and good night

Gabriel
