Cant select a deck in USB Link mode on CDJ900NXS
Hi there.
So at home i use a DJM750MK2 and 2 XDJ1000s MK1. I connect all these via a USB hut to my Windows 10 laptop that has the latest Rekordbox installed. The DJM acts as the soundcard and the 2 XDJ1000s act as controllers (to start them i select Link > Push to connect > the turn the dial to select the appropriate deck number). Im happy with how this set up works.
At the weekend i had a gig in a venue where they have DJM900NXS, and 2 CDJ900NXS. I presumed the set up would be identical. I plugged them all in the same way. Rekordbox prompted me to install the drivers for the DJM900NXS on first run of Rekordbox once they were plugged in and i followed he instructions and installed the drivers. After this (and plugging the mixer back in), the DJM900NXS was correctly recognised as a soundcard.
The decks however would not work. I would go to Link > Push to Connect > but after this point the rotary dial would not allow me to select a deck. The CDJ did say PC on the bottom of the screen but that was about it. A bit of googling later and i realised it may be due to my subscription level, so i updated my Rekordbox to a Core Plan and Rekordbox was showing Core in the software. Still the same issue.
This is as far as i got. Does anyone have any idea on how to fox this issue. On looking around the forums it seems i am by far the only one but all the threads never actually give a fix or allow me to comment on them to ask what peoples solutions was!
I play this venue once a month. I used to use Serato SL4 box and used the same CDJs in HID mode to control Serato. Used to work flawlessly. I have recently decided to switch to Rekordbox as its less cables to plug in at events and with the SL4 box no longer being supported i thought it made sense to jump. I assumed i would just plug things in and it would work! How wrong was I!!
So if anyone has any suggestions it would be very much welcomed!
