Opus-Quad Summary aft. 1,5years
I have owned the Opus Quad for about 1.5 years and am both thrilled and disappointed.
I am very satisfied with the performance of the device, but a lot has broken in the short time since I bought it.
I have to say that I have only used Pioneer devices for a number of years.
From the DDJ-RZX, XDJ-RX2, XDJ-RX3 to the flagships CDJ2000NXS&DJM900NXS2, everything has been there. I have bought all the devices new and so far, without exception, there has only ever been minor damage such as line fader caps and the like.
I've used all the devices practically non-stop, with a lot of fun and enjoyment.
Whether in the club, at home or at birthdays.
The Opus Quad is no exception, but as mentioned at the beginning, damage occurs too often.
I have already had to repair the following things in the 1.5 years:
- Source/Browse button pair
- Playlist/Tag List button pair
- 2x button pair Beat Jump (L+R)
- Crush/Sweep button pair
- 1x Channel Fader Cap
- 2x Channel Fader (Ch 1+4)
- 2x Jog Wheel (L+R) With longer backspin, the spacer slips and the whole jog wheel hangs
I can't say why so much breaks on the Opus Quad in particular, but with a new price of €3300 this shouldn't be the case with professional DJ equipment.
I am surprised and disappointed as this is not the kind of quality I have been used to from Pioneer Dj for years.
Because of this, I can't yet get used to the idea of spending a similar amount of money on the XDJ-AZ again.
