DJM A9 can’t record via Audacity

Been using my phone to record via the app using usb C with no issues. I tried recording through Audacity and set everything up via the connect utility and when recording the wave is almost flat with a few little blips. When listening back it’s as if it’s under water and muffled, also very low. I’ve tried another USB C which is exactly the same. Checked all settings over and over. Any help appreciated.
