DDJ FLX 10 Crossfader Enabled?

Hey Beginner DJ here,

For some reason I can't get the Crossfader to fully work. I wonder if its just a button I didn't press, because it took me forever to learn how to get sound out of this thing and all I had to press was the cue button. Anyways, what I am able to do is use the fader start function but I'm not actually able to fade/control the sound of each channel using the fader. So when I move the fader back and forth nothing happens. I do have everything assign and not on thru so that cant be that issue. Do I need to send this unit back or is it user error in this case? Oh I also did the calibration thing too and still not working. I hope its as simple as a button or a knob and didn't activate.
