Errors and Freezes

⚠️ URGENT HELP NEEDED! ⚠️

I’m experiencing serious issues with my USBs, and I have no idea what’s going on.

  • Playlists analyzed in Rekordbox 7
  • After ~2 hours of playing, CDJs/XDJs freeze or throw errors
  • Sometimes waveform doesn’t load, even though everything was analyzed
  • Errors include:
    🔴 E-8302
    🔴 "Device library is corrupted"
    🔴 Other random issues (see pics)

What I’ve tried so far:

Different USBs – Cheap Sandisk & Sandisk Extreme PRO
Reformatted to FAT32
Tested on multiple setups: XDJ-XZ, XDJ-RX2, CDJ-3000, CDJ-2000, CDJ-2000nxs

Same problem on all of them! The gear completely crashes and needs to be power-cycled.

❌ Happens 2-3 times out of 10 plays, so way too often.

🔍 Any ideas on what’s causing this?

Yves

Hi Maksymilian Meszka

I noticed in one picture that the USB was corrupted.

  • If this issue always happens with the same tracks, please reanalyzed them or delete and import them again into rekordbox;
  • Try to format your USB drive again to FAT32 format (especially for old player models, a single MBR partition is required, so make sure to format the USB drive to FAT32 with a "single MBR partition";
  • Please also note that USB memory drives will fail after a certain number of years of use. So try to export your playlists to a brand new USB drive, and see if that makes any difference;
  • If you have a Mac at home, you can also try an HFS+ formatted (Mac OS Extended Journaled format) USB drive instead.

Thank for the comment Yves, really appreciate that, however:

1. No, sometimes the tracks go well, sometimes they just get stuck.

2. I did on 2 different pendrives and nothing worked. It happens so random. For example on the weekend, no issue with 2000-NXS2

3. The Pendrives are new.

4. HFS+ is supported also on old devices like CDJ-2000?

I am thinking of the Rekordbox update to 7, maybe that's an issue?

Yves

Hi Maksymilian Meszka

Yes, the CDJ-2000 supports FAT, FAT32 and HFS+.

Let's treat this issue with our engineering team as they might be able to help.

Could you please file an inquiry ticket here and we take it from there?

Thanks

Yves
