Will a Touch Screen Help with Beatmatching & Effects Control?

Hey everyone,

I’m thinking about upgrading to an i5 touch screen laptop for my DJ setup, but I’m not sure if the touch functionality will actually enhance my performance. I primarily use Rekordbox and Serato, and I’m curious if a touch screen would make beatmatching, triggering effects, or adjusting EQs more intuitive compared to using a traditional keyboard and mouse. Has anyone here tried using a touch screen for DJing?

Since an i5 touch screen laptop offers both performance and flexibility, I wonder if tapping directly on the screen to control effects or loops would feel more natural during a live set. However, I’m also concerned about accidental touches and responsiveness—would it slow me down or improve my workflow? If you've used a touch screen laptop for DJ software, what’s your experience?

I’d love to hear from DJs who have experimented with an i5 touch screen laptop for mixing and performing. Does it make a real difference, or is it just a gimmick? Any recommendations or insights would be really helpful!
