Do stems function causing digital distortion?

Hello,

I have a constant problem with Rekordbox 7.1.1 when DJing. After some time it seems that one of the players starts losing sample rate or something similar, causing digital distortion that cannot be reset. This happens on both my MacBook Pro and my PC version with different controllers and audio interfaces - even CDJs and my brand new Pioneer DDJ-FLX10 and different audio buffer sizes. It seems to be related to the stems function, but I'm not sure exactly.

And I noticed that sometimes I have to restart the software because the browser doesn't show up.

Am I the only one experiencing this problem? I would be very grateful for any help or advice.

Best regards,
Alex

You are not the only one. I have a Flex10 that is about 2 years old. I am constantly getting glitches, skips, distortion and drop outs. I was first using an older Dell laptop with a I5 and upgraded ram. That worked with my 400 but it was struggling with the Flex10. So spent some money on a new Dell G16 with an I9, Nividia 4080 GPU, Alienware Command Center. I have tried overclocking the system hoping that it would solve something. It did not. I have had it serviced by Dell but it continues with the same problem. Just last week I had someone else look at it for a second opinion. I basically said that the only thing I use this CPU for is Djing and production. He streamlined and tuned it for music. It was better for like an hour or so and then right back to losing my mind. I have done everything that I could so I am begining to believe that it is one of the three Alphatheta products. Either, rekordbox, driver, controller. I am not able to use a lot of the features on the controller or in rekordbox. Any advice is welcome.

Yep, it's a rekordbox stems issue. I noticed this happening while using the FLX10 on my 16 inch macbook pro I9 2019 with 64Gb and 4 TB drive. I recently upgraded to a 16 inch M1 macbook pro with 64gb and also 4TB drive. The M1 flies and the speed using rekordbox is amazing. But the processing power of the M1 did not fix the audio distortion happening sometimes with stems. I midi mapped the mid high and low knobs to stems and after a while using these while mixing i start to notice the audio distortion. Unfortunately there is an issue using stems. Hopefully rekordbox can fix this as it's not working properly.
