Usb-c to usb-a

Just got the flx 4 but I don't have usb-c input on my laptop. What adapter/hub/cord would you recommend? I've tried a bunch of my usb-c to usb-a cords (even a blue data one that came with my Kingston external hard drive). Controller lights up and says it's connected but nothing works. Using the same Windows laptop that works fine with xdjrr and ddj 200
