Resizable Hot Cue Columns + Improved Horizontal Scrollbar
Hi Rekordbox Dev Team,
First off, thank you for continuing to evolve and support an amazing platform for DJs. As someone who relies on Rekordbox both in the studio and live environments, I’ve got a small UX-focused feature request that could make a big difference—especially for those of us using laptops or tight controller screens during fast-paced gigs.
Feature Proposal:
-
Resizable Hot Cue Columns
Currently, the hot cue columns in the grid view are much wider than necessary—especially when cue labels are short or nonexistent. On widescreen displays, this creates a lot of wasted horizontal space and often forces users to scroll just to view all cue points. This is particularly frustrating given that:-
Scrolling disrupts workflow mid-set.
-
There’s often no mouse available (just trackpads or touch screens).
-
DJs are standing, moving fast, and need to access cue data instantly.
Proposed Solution: Allow users to resize the width of hot cue columns—just like they would in a spreadsheet or file browser. Even better if Rekordbox could remember these preferences between sessions.
-
-
Thicker Horizontal Scrollbar
The current horizontal scrollbar is extremely thin—just a couple pixels—and very hard to grab, especially in high-pressure settings. This makes an already suboptimal situation (having to scroll mid-performance) worse.Proposed Solution: Increase the thickness of the horizontal scrollbar (at least 2x the current size). Bonus points for making it responsive to touchscreens.
Why This Matters:
These two small changes would improve accessibility and usability, particularly in live performance settings where efficiency and quick access are critical. It’s a low-lift quality-of-life enhancement that will pay off big time for end users without requiring a rework of core functionality.
Thanks for considering this! Would love to hear if others in the community feel the same, and if this might be something on the roadmap.
Keep up the great work!
