XDJ XZ left deck issues

I have a couple of small things happening with my XZ - it's under 12 months old so I'd like some advice, especially since both affect the left deck.

Firstly I run it connected to Rekordbox 7.1.2, it has the most recent firmware and drivers. However I don't think that is relevant. Both issues happen often enough. The XZ's either been under a dust cover or in a flight case since brand new. 

Issue 1 - "half" connecting
A  I turn it on it powers up normally. I hit the connect buttons, everything looks fine.
B I drag a track in to deck 1 via Rekordbox, the screen at the top shows a track loaded but the deck does not.
C I can hit play on Rekordbox but the deck shows nothing, and no buttons work. They light as expected.
D Restarting Rekordbox doesn't resolve it.
E Turn it off and on hit connect, it's fine
F Next day, repeat.

Issue 2 - Powering off

A I turn the device off with the power button.
B The left side of the device stays lit. It does not power off.
C If a USB is in it flashes as if it's being accessed 
D It will power off like this even without a USB in. 

I just turned it on for the first time today, didn't connect to RB the first time, then didn't turn off properly and now it's connected and playing.

My exact steps :
1) Turn on laptop
2) Power on XZ
3) Press Link
4) Press 1, then 2
5) Drag track onto Rekordbox
-- It didn't connect.
6) Power off XZ
-- It didn't fully power off
7) Power it on again
8 Connect.
