Flx 10 issue with trim

I am having an issue with the trim. If i notice a channel is running hot, i try to lower the trim and the slightest turn of the knob i am getting a dramatic drop in volume. This is also the case when i turn the trim back up again. So very noticeable changes in volume either way, when moving the trim. This is also an intermittent issue. 

I am using a macbook pro with the latest OS - Sequoia 15.5 with an i9 and i am using the latest version of Virtual DJ.
