libary transfer from mac running ver 5.8 to windows running ver 7.14

i have backed up my libary to a external hard drive 1 with just files and one with music and files tried to restiore on my new reckord box from hard drive fails everytime what am i doing wrong ive a gig coming up and as it stands i have no music as the az wont read my sticks from version 5
