Preview Entire Playlist at Desired BPM (Without Altering Original Track)
As a DJ, I often like to audition tracks at a different tempo than their original BPM to see how they’d feel in a set. At the moment, my workflow is to:
-
Load a track into Player 1, adjust the BPM to my target tempo.
-
Load a second track into Player 2 (which inherits that BPM), and repeat this process for every track I want to test.
While this works, it’s time-consuming when you’re sorting through many tracks, especially when curating playlists for a specific style or energy level.
Feature request:
Add a “Set Desired BPM” option at the playlist level.
Any track previewed from that playlist would automatically play back at the chosen BPM during preview, without having to load them into the players individually.
Key points:
-
Preview only — The original BPM data and exported track remain unchanged.
-
Should work with all preview methods (in Rekordbox browser, with preview player, etc.).
-
Saves time and keeps creative flow when curating playlists or weeding out tracks that don’t match the vibe.
-
Makes Rekordbox more flexible for DJs who play at consistent tempos or pitch-up/down for stylistic reasons.
Example use case:
I want to hear how my 130 BPM tracks feel at 160 BPM without manually loading and adjusting each one.
With this feature, I could set “Preview BPM” to 160 for my playlist, audition all my candidates quickly, and build a tighter, more cohesive set.
