CDJ-350 'USB-STOP' LED Blinking
Hi, I've sent this also to support via Contact Form, but I'll try my luck also here:
The user manual of CDJ 350 states, that if overcurrent is detected on USB Port A, "USB STOP" LED will blink and the USB Stick might be disconnected. However, after testing multiple different USB Sticks, all from well known brands (official), with 32 GB, FAT32 Partition and just a few songs, the problem persists in both CDJs that I have, especially when scrolling through songs or folders while playing. It does not disconnect, but rather blinks a few times and goes back to normal. I also tried with a self-powered USB stick, which does not consume any current from the CDJ at all, the problem also happens in the exact same manner.
Internally I also measured the error signal (pin 5) from chip IC504, it never falls to zero indicating overcurrent. Therefore, does anyone know what other technical conditions that could lead to the USB STOP Led to blink? Is it also dependent on other hardware voltage levels or rather on the USB Software stack due to communication errors for example? Using a USB stick with internal LED that blinks on BUS Activity, I've noticed that the problem happens when there is a short (~200ms) bus activity stop. Monitoring USB current also never reaches 500mA.
I really like Pioneer CDJs since long ago and would still stick to them, but the fear of having a USB disconnected during a performance is making me worried. So I would be glad if you could provide me some more technical details on this issue, so I could fix myself without having to perform a very long and exhausting investigation of all other HW signals. Thanks in advance.
