CDJ3000 Jog Wheel/Screen

So, back in August, i finally bit the bullet and upgraded my 7 year old CDJ2000NXS2's, and bought a set of CDJ3000's. The reliability of the NXS2's, the promise of the new MPU, the bigger screen, and i quote "Our smoothest-ever jog wheel" were the main reasons for the upgrade, i also believed that after nearly 6 years of release, all the issues with the unit would have finally been addressed by the R&D team at pioneerdj, but how wrong was i.

When both units arrived, one was dated as manufactured Dec 24, and the other May 25.

The May 25 unit was as promised, no issues, the Dec 24 unit however suffered from 2 issues straight out of the box :

The jog wheel is NOT the smoothest, and is producing an audible grinding sound & feeling to touch when making adjustments, a well reported issue on the pioneerdj forum & 3rd party websites since 2020. The second issue is with the screen, the brightness setting on both units were set to 3 out of the box, but the screen on the May 25 unit is brighter than the Dec 24 unit on this setting, and i have to set the May 25 unit to 2 so they both match, small but annoying!

I have already contacted pioneerdj about these issues, they confirmed that there is a fault with the Dec 24 unit, and because the unit has now passed the 14 day return policy, i will now have to send the unit away for repair.

My fustration with the whole situation is that not only have i spent over 2k each on these units, but the inconsistencies still after 6 years are incredible, and my confidence in purchasing any pioneerdj/alphapheta product in the future is quickly fading, i'm already seeing issues with the CDJ3000X being mentioned on the pioneerdj forum and 3rd party websites. My further fustration is that i will now be without the 2nd unit for at least a couple of weeks before i receive it back, and hope that the issues have been rectified.

Pioneerdj/AlphaPheta really need to up their game regarding QC. I think they have become lackadaisical over time, thinking that people will just put up with known issues being addressed months or even years after release instead of before because of their dominance in the current DJ landscape.

There is no excuse, this flagship equipment should be flawless out of the box.
