rx2 laptop connection

i have a pioneer xdj -rx2 system which i use with virtual dj now everything is up to date with the controllor and all my drivers are up to date on my laptop i use a dell 15 5000 laptop with a i5 processor and everything is up to date with that i use virtual dj to use wen am recording or live streaming however every now and then i seem to lose the waveform and everything goes off on the screen on the decks however a dont lose anything audio or visual on the laptop just the controller  i then select another song once this has happend and the waveform comes back for a while then its starts again any ideas thanks
