DDJ FLX400 dimming after turning on

I just bought this deck today and after plugging it in, downloading rekordbox on my laptop, and following the setup tutorial I was able to successfully load a song onto the deck and get it to play out of my laptop, while also being able to use the effects on the board. However that is the only time I’ve successfully gotten the deck and laptop/program to interact.

Now when I connect the cord between the deck and laptop, the deck lights up then goes dim. Once this happens I cannot get a song loaded and playing.

I have an HP ENVY and it is updated. I also restarted it. I also have the most recent rekordbox update downloaded.

So far I have tried the following: -plugging the cord that came with it into the laptop port (on the deck) into my laptop. -I’ve tried the above while also having a cord plugged into the power slot on the deck and into the wall. -I’ve tried multiple different cords and even bought a belkin 100w USB-C to USB-C -deleting and redownloading rekordbox

I cannot tell if this is an issue with the deck, my laptop, the software or a mix of those.
