Sudden glitches while loading song into player even with audio buffer high.

Since de last update (or 2) I notice that when playing in performance mode, the system stops for a milisecond (no sound) or makes even a high frequent noise sound. Unacceptable while playing! I7 core laptop with 32gb RAM and the CPU meter never even blinked. What could that be?
