ERROR E0002 shown in Display

After updating from version 1.10 to 1.30 (successfully), I encountered an "ERROR E0002" when powering the ChordCat on. The error stays, but it seems the buttons are working. And after a couple of power cycles, the error disappeared.

Now I updated to version 1.40 (successfully), and the error appeared again... what to do?

  1. The error appears after a couple of seconds - so the device appears to be fine for those initial couple of seconds
  2. Pressing buttons (while looking fine or after the error appears) and power cycling does not change that behavior
  3. Powering off requires cutting power - long-pressing the power button has no effect 
  4. When quickly jumping into the menu (pressing the MENU button) while the ChordCat appears fine seems to sometimes solve the issue - the error sometimes does not appear (during that power cycle) [this only works once every 10-20 power cycles? Still trying to find a way to reproduce]
  5. But after power cycling the error re-appears
  6. Just to be sure, when 4. worked, I "Reset All Settings" in the "System Settings" menu - but this does not change possibly regressing to 5.
