RMX-IGNITE - Reducing Dry Release Output Level

When pressing the release button with dry selected the unit produces a boost of sound even if no effects are generated. Why is this? Is there a way through a software update to reduce this output boost? Otherwise you are really limited on how much you can use the effects as it builds up too much output quickly and overpowers the signal when you try to "release" it smoothly in the mix.
